PSREG Power Supply
High Current Version

The PSREGHC High Current Power Supply

The PSREGHC is a high quality low voltage regulated power supply. It is recommended for use with solid state preamplifiers, active crossovers, filters, CD player mods and tube filament supplies.
Many are now using the PSREGHC to power their Squeezeboxes too!  The PSREGHC’s voltage can be fixed for a positive voltage below 12 volts by the selection of a few resistors, and its output is capable of supplying up to 3.5 ampere of current which makes it useful for tube filament supplies.

The PSREGHC uses the Linear Technologies LT1084 regulator which is a low dropout, high current, high efficiency device highly recommended for audio applications. The rectifier diodes are low noise Schottky devices and filtering is accomplished with the renowned ELNA and NICHCON electrolytic capacitors.  The PSREGHC is a very compact design measuring just 2.7 inches by 4.25 inches with a height of less than 2.25 inches.

*** Please specify your desired output voltage ***
Typical outputs available are 5V to 12V

The following equation can be used to calculate the resistor values required for a specific output voltage:

Vout = 1.25 ( 1 + R2/R1) + R2 (50 x 10-6)

The table below lists resistor values for several common voltages. If you order our kit, be sure to specify which voltage you will be using, and we will send you the correct values.

Resistance

R2 = 2.74 Kohm     R1 = 1.00 Kohm

R2 = 2.74 Kohm     R1 = 750 ohm

Voltage
